I am writing to those who wish to grow in their faith and maturity now. Growth in faith and maturity involves more depth than a contentment with your stuff. It involves a will-deep accepting of the good, the pauses and the bad- all of it- as God’s will and thus for a higher purpose than we can understand. Because we trust God to be who He is- love, kind, joyful, peaceful, self-controlled, gentle, patient, good, faithful- we know whatever it is is best for us long term. When you can get there, you are lifted by God to a higher plane of existence, to an untouchable faith that keeps you closer to Him. This is a beautiful place to be. Peace and joy rests there. It creates this protection from the elements. They are part of the plan we trust God is working out for His good as well as our good and those around us. ❤ ❤
People forget so easily that God is in charge. He has a plan and it will succeed, it already has in fact. He is the winner. Jesus is the Champion for our salvation. God is it. When we work His will as shown to us in the Bible, we win. What little ideas we have are in no way better than the amazing blessings and rewards God has for us. So we have some discomfort. So what. I am quite sure Jesus went through quite a bit of discomfort for us. It is an honor to obey God. It is a blessing to worship Him!😄❤
Love is not a mamby pamby wallflower sort of thing. It is the most powerful force in the universe. How do I know? God is love. Tired of people believing that loving someone allows others the freedom to do whatever they want to people and get away with it. That is not love. Love is standing for truth while exhibiting the fits of the Spirit. How do I k n ow? God is truth and Jesus did not tuck things under the rug, he said what needed saying. He was the bravest man ever to have existed and He was God. There was no wallflower in Him. Humble does not ever mean ashamed, it is a choice to allow God to flow through you, it is a brave purpose of placing your will under God’s, giving Him primary rule over it. This is fierce and brave. There is no fear for love casts it out. We need to do what is right.❤
God says in the Bible that He sees the heart of a person. We are responsible for what we think about all the time, what fills our heart, our intentions. We may have good intentions but it is misinterpreted. We still did good by meaning well. It really is the thought that counts to God. Our actions matter too. Our actions are actually an extension of our intentions. Intention precedes action. This is what God means when He says that out of the abundance of the heart thr mouth speaks. Speaking is an action as much as physical work. Both are the fruit, the proof of the good of your intentions and heart.
I used to hear this word “intentions” captured by humanism and various other Eastern religions but I want very much to explain that they do not own this word. It is a very good word that they use for a different purpose, as in to focus on calm or clear the mind or other seemingly worthy causes. But God and I do not mean this. It is very dangerous to clear one’s mind- makes a blank slate for evil to slip in. The whole idea of having good intentions is the idea of inputting truth from God’s Word, the Bible, and having that truth and a desire to please God bubble over into desiring or willing to please God so much you intend to do something good for God or someone He made as an act of worship. This is the pure and blessed form of intention I am speaking of. This is so beautiful it is glorious. And God honors it. ❤
I saw a poignant billboard that read, “God’s will is God’s Word”. I don’t believe God’s will is some mysterious thing we have to seek years to find. I believe it is right in front of us in God’s Word, the Bible. I believe that if you read and sincerely obey what it says and pray, you are in God’s will. And a step deeper in obedience is using the gifts and talents He gave you for Him by serving others and worshipping. And the rest of it is cludging and distractions. I believe firmly God is not elusive but very near, awaiting our humble prayer and obedience.
This is controversial for so many, but I believe sincere and humble obedience must accompany faith to prove it. Faith alone is like owning a cloud. Doesn’t benefit anyone until it rains. Obedience is the rain, allowing people to benefit. Faith alone is not enough to be in God’s will because His Word is so clear that once we have true faith, we exercise true obedience. And His blessings for us result from humble obedience and prayer and worship.
Our will being put under His will is the key. We decide He matters most and we want to follow His Word rather than our own desires and whims. He is God, after all. That is the crux of everything.❤
Sometimes, as has happened in my life and so many others I know of, a separation occurs. A betrayal or abandonment or broken promise. Sometimes it is in a marriage where one decides to up and leave, sometimes a close friend drops you unexpectedly like a bad habit, sometimes you are fired all of a sudden. I believe it is worse where emotional attachments and history together have accumulated. But whatever the betrayal, it is very common in our out for me kind of culture we are finding ourselves in. And when confronted with such a deep wound and heavy heartache, which you feel will literally kill you from the brokenness, you want to say or scream or cry different messages to the offender at different times. You really want to have kept things as they were or stayed in the relationship or what have you and that one-sidedness is what hurt the most maybe. It is a blatant rejection, and you question yourself and everyone and nothing makes sense anymore for a while, it was about a year for me. At a year, I reflected and learned this… there is a beauty in separation you can sometimes obtain in no other way. When someone was removed from your life, quite often God knew something that you did not, maybe about their moral character or your unhealthy over-attachment or their financial insufficiencies or your struggle with them to be who you were meant to be or what have you. There are a myriad of reasons we may not even be aware of. For instance, a man God saved me from that at the time I believed was perfect for me I later ended up finding out he had been a wife beater and cheater and dead beat dad and lived off of women. Yuck! I was young and naive and blindly in deep love but God saved me despite my protests and saved me again and then comforted me and brought me close to Himself. That would never have happened had the painful at the time separation never occurred. So my point is that God knows full well what is best for you and you can trust Him explicitely. He’s got your back. You cannot see what is in another person’s heart but God can and does. And if your heart must be broken to make something much more beautiful from it, it is well worth the pain and God comforts and gives peace and joy as He heals you. God can be trusted. Take what is dealt you where separation is the case. Often it is for your best and with God, He always makes beauty from the deepest of wounds.❤
I look forward to doing what God wants me to do, no matter what that is. He gives me enjoyment and makes it fun to be where He wants me to be at the moment. This is HIS gift to me for obedience. It is beautiful. I am not sure how else to describe it. He makes me want to do it. Either He gives me this enjoyment from whatever task before I start by giving me the desire or after I obey when someone else asks me for Him to do it. And it occurred to me… God is very cool.❤
