I have a doctorate. I worked hard and long to get it. I do not use my title to promote myself or pump my ego up. I never insist to be called Dr. LaLonde, though I have a right to be called so. The thing is, when I feel the need to speak out on a topic I understand inside and out, I will say it with the full breadth of my authority and education to make that point that may help other people. “Look, I’m a doctor”, I say. I know health, I understand it. I have studied math and sciences to the nth degree, having degrees on degrees and yet am the humblest person I know. Why? Because God gives knowledge, wisdom and understanding, and He can choose to n give all that to someone else if I get too high and mighty on my cloud thinking I am smart. I am blessed and know the difference. I guess in that way, by the grace of God, I know to be humble which makes me smart. No, all that being said, I excelled in debate in school, always won the argument and here is why. You have to know both sides. You cannot determine what is right and healthy without exploring what is wrong based on symptoms and history. You cannot. There is an ignorance in believing what someone told you without requiring the evidence or exausting the other possibilities based upon reputable sources. So when you hear something, even if told you by someone you know or like or are related to, understand that before it becomes a belief, it needs to be checked against the facts and proven. This is against ways true. Do not be a lazy believer. Question, ask, seek, read, pray and truth will present itself to you. Look around, we have plenty of willful ignorance and laziness around us and lots of devisive propogandists attacking America and our American-elected President, lots of people accepting other people’s misinformation as fact and buying what they are selling with smoke and mirrors. Do not be one of those people. Dig, read, pray, think for yourself, decide for yourself. God gave you an invaluable and very intelligent mind. Use it. Research both sides and make an informed decision and stand for it. America needs her people to support her and her freedoms to think. You got this.
Headlong I barrelled against the forces that destroy. My God is my Champion Bullfighter and I went along for the ride today. It is not always the case that vigor and energy unite and forge against the bulls charging me but today, I met my opponent headlong and stood strong. Standing is sometimes all we can do. Today, I might have even made a few inches forward. With caretaking two parents, one because he is now more childlike than not with dementia and one who complains and demands, and the immense load I continually seem to have to bear unwillingly on a day to day basis it seems, two young children who need me, a husband close to recovery from knee surgery, neighbor children drama, hot weather on painting outside day and bugs, my day was full of charging bulls. And I say thank You, God, for being my Champion today. We made it through and even a little ahead and I am thankful for it. That is all, I want to bask in this moment. Tomorrow will bring a new series of bulls charging as time is growing to a close for them to have opportunity to take me and my family down. But I know the secret to successful bullfighting. I know the Champion Bullfighter personally and I know that He has already killed these bulls, they just don’t want to go down gracefully… they want to take as many down as possible as they go. It is pathetic. Some days I barely stand but my secret Champion is always with me for as soon as my distracted self remembers it again. I need to keep alert and prepared, and on days like this I need to bask and celebrate. God is good all the time. He is the only One who is. Praise God He loves us!
“Be humble under God’s powerful hand so he will lift you up when the right time comes. Give all your worries to him, because he cares about you. Control yourselves and be careful! The devil, your enemy, goes around like a roaring lion looking for someone to eat. Refuse to give in to him, by standing strong in your faith. You know that your Christian family all over the world is having the same kinds of suffering. And after you suffer for a short time, God, who gives all grace, will make everything right. He will make you strong and support you and keep you from falling. He called you to share in his glory in Christ, a glory that will continue forever. All power is his forever and ever. Amen.” – 1 Peter 5:6-11
It never ceases to disgust me how vile our enemy is. He works at the basest level of ugly in ignorant or greedy minds to destroy the pawn he is using as well as as many others as he can. He knows his time is short. He seems to be working overtime. Every evil thought we give in to gives him hope and fuel. Every disgusting urge and fantasy he can imprint on a mind gives him a little victory. For that reason alone, we must hold tightly to our purity and defense (the Bible and prayer). Every prayer we offer, all our time in the Word, every act of service to others and God ultimately, every worship song sung, every encouraging word uttered is a win for God and a kick in the enemy’s gut. We are at war. It is more obvious now than ever because you can feel in the air how it is ramping up. Jesus will come soon. We have it in writing. Doomsday for all evil and corruption will be here soon. Until then, desperation is going to happen as the enemy nears its demise, and we must brace ourselves. We must stand strong with the fruits of the Spirit, Bible reading, prayer, service, love. Our job is to hold out, to do the right thing, knowing we are the winners, no matter what evils are unleashed in this world. This world will soon be changed and will never be stained with hatred and blood and ugliness again ever. It will be perfect and beautiful as God had originally made it to be. And Beauty and Love and Holiness is the victor! We are on the winning team. Stand strong and be encouraged that God is our Champion and His Son our Savior. We stand behind Him for Him and we are safe for eternity, no matter what temporary looks like. Praise God, all who are saved by Him! Worship the Holy One of Israel and His adopted ones! Praise the God who gave us life because He wanted us! Worship the Magnificent Creator!
As a follower of the way of the Messiah, I have a strong love for the people of Israel. My Bible tells me so much of their history, it is difficult to not fall in love with these courageous people. I even love their stubbornness, because if that were not there I would have no hope, so even that has saved all who are not Jewish and who follow their Messiah, who is now our Messiah also, as their Messiah has adopted us into the Jewish family. We are all saved through these beautiful people and I love them. And of all my friends who are Jews have such amazing minds, either artistic, mathematical, scientific, theatrical, and all those things impress me. We as Americans should continue to support our Jewish family because the Bible states that whoever supports Israel will be successful, if for no reason. Our country will prosper as a result of our stand for them, God’s chosen people, so He promises and He never forsakes a promise and history proves its validity. Plus, as Christians, followers of the way of Love, we are family and family protects family. Also, as the daughter of a Marine, the terrorists hate Israel and attack them so for that reason we should love them and fight against terror on all fronts. Mutual enemies bond us and we should unite against them. Israel must be supported and they will be. Better their help come from us and we reap the benefits than someone else comes and they do. Purely fiscally, it makes sense. Morally, it makes sense. Spiritually, it makes sense. We must stand with Israel.
My 4 year old daughter’s newest thing that doesn’t make sense to me must stem from our garage sales. We have had three in her lifetime to sell off what they have outgrown and get pocket money for school crafts. Apparently, the selling of things made quite an impact in her life. So, her newest thing is to speak of “not selling” people in her life she likes and “selling” people who may be on her bad side that moment. So, I will get compliments like, “Mom, I love you. I don’t want to sell you.” Or in angry moments of her big brother not letting her destroy his valuable toy, she will pull me aside and say reverently “Mom, brother was mean to me. I think we should sell him.” Of course we had a huge theological discussion on the value of people and all kinds of things on a four year old level. But the point is that some people remain in toddler discard mode when something doesn’t suit them. Instead of putting in sometimes very little work or a few conversations, people will pout and give up and discard the person as they would rubbish and go about their own business like they are the only ones in the world who matter. And quite frankly, I am to the point where I call out this behavior and stand up for the integrity of life. There is of course the u born babies who may be discarded and murdered because they are sent to the world at an inopportune time or in an inopportune way. There is the school “nerd” who just doesn’t fit the “popular” mold and is bullied and discarded and discounted, the brunt of jokes. And there is the brilliant yet vulnerable young woman who was taken in by a man claiming to love her who abandons and discards her when he finds someone cuter or more vulnerable. And there is the good, decent American who stands for what is right and works honestly who is discarded as a pawn to line the pockets of the wealthy and powerful. Enough is enough. Why do we tolerate these people’s behavior. I have stood against many a bully and one thing I know about bullies is that they are all cowards, every one of them. They will fly or run if confronted. They will cower and lie if questioned. They will shudder if checked. They need to shudder for they are wrong. They should cower as they have made others cower who chose fear rather than confrontation. They should run out of town, out of America. People should unite and band together and take back our lives and country. Yes, prayer and fasting is step one but faith without works is dead.
I am tired. I am still standing for truth, justice and the American country God’s way, but I am tired. Those of us in the midst of this spiritual war we are in (whether we realize it or not) are tired. We are only human, after all, right? The war rages on relentlessly and each person seems a tug of was between good and evil in their hearts. I fight it in mine also. The battle is actually not easing down but ramping up. We stand for the Lord but we’re getting so beaten up by evil that we are tired. So, what do we do for that? Give up? Well, people who say we come without a manual are mistaken. We have the Bible, which teaches us everything we ever need to know about life and war. We read in there that we are to wear our Spiritual armor every day, which includes reading the Bible and praying, knowing our salvation and having the fruits of the Spirit evidenced in our lives. It also says to meet together with other people of like faith (which assumes they actually have some of that) and encourage each other in the faith (not put on a show, not join with them in dogmatic rituals, not speak our own minds). We need to be very careful of the churches we are attending in these spiritually disturbing times. Many churches are really not serving the Lord anymore but just themselves, being more worldly than the world and teaching traditional opinion of man rather than Biblical opinion of God. There are still some around where the enemy hasn’t found a way to corrupt, so seek them out. Please don’t get me wrong. I am not encouraging church jumping on a whim. I am only saying that if the church you are attending does not worship the Lord and teach the Bible without adding their own opinion as fact, etc., stand up for God and follow the Biblical protocols for addressing the situation. If independent, you are within the Biblical mandate to shake off the dust from your feet from there and seek out a church home that is in accordance with Scripture. We can study the Bible ourselves and pray and we should eagerly and faithfully do that, but we still need to encourage each other in a way that gives us needed strength but also gives all honor to God and not anyone else. I will refresh my soul in this way and will not stand tired but hopeful that I am doing what I should be doing and can rest peacefully in the hope that Christ gives us when evil will pass away forever! I want to go to heaven if for no other reason than the fact that the Spiritual war will be over and there will not be bad guys ever again! Yay!
