The wisdom and maturity of a person is seen in their use of silence. Silence is magnificent when necessity dictates it and is a blatant sin of omission in other arenas. Wisdom and maturity to know which is which comes from God in His Word, the Bible, we can read or from the Holy Spirit in our minds and hearts when humbly asked. God is the only source of this level of wisdom and maturity in the dedicated and n intentional art of silence. Let us ask Him continually and read His Word continually to get this one right. It is magnificent when done well and speaks volumes when done well consistently. Timing is God’s puppy. We need Him for it and may we represent Him well in doing so.❤
This from a writer. Lol But I do not write every opinion I have and that is true. Nor do I think anyone else should either. Why not? Because alongside the freedom of speech is the freedom to obey God who said to only say that which builds up and is positive and does not tear down. And lately a whole lot of people are tearing down, remembering that we live with the freedom of opening our mouths and forget the wisdom of keeping them closed sometimes. There is a time to speak, but when everyone speaks at once, no one is heard and the noise is growing.
In addition, breath is wasted on those with closed ears.
Also, he who argues with a fool becomes one.
And always bear in mind that we are accountable to God for every word we release to the air, for better or worse. No one is immune to that truth. ❤
I sit in my silence
Alone in my room to sleep
And silence speaks to me.
It beckons me remember
That which I should forget
It speaks lies of another’s silence
Which speaks differently.
I detest the silence.
The silence speaks peace
In an alternate story.
The silence beckons my repose,
Assuring that all is well.
I love the silence.
The voice of silence, then,
Appears my choice.
My perspective loves or hates.
Silence’s story is in my interpretation.❤
Today, I was socially cautious and ambiguous in a crowd! We had our first 4-H meeting today and lots of people were there and I sat back and watched and listened quietly. This excites me very much because usually in my haste to make friends, I frighten people and talk too much, I radiate the room, without meaning to. It is generally not good and generally gets me into trouble. Silence has been my goal, ambiguity. I want to be the fearless leader God made me to be but I am learning to temper that with wisdom and know when to speak and when to remain silent. That is the key. But Yay for little accomplishments. One must celebrate tiny victories along the way. 😄❤
Nothing says “I want nothing to do with you” like a big heaping plate of silence. When you are pursuing and they are not reciprocating your pursuit, that is telling. They do not want the same thing. When you reach out to someone and keep reaching out and they are silent and moving further away, that is telling. They don’t want you. Silence is telling. It says more sometimes than words do. When someone is silent to you and you have been reaching out, they are lost to you, they don’t want you. This is a humbling notion but one when mastered will hurt in the short run but prevent further hurt in the long run. And God can give you both discernment and comfort, whichever is needed at the moment. The key is sticking humbly close to Him in prayer and reading. He is way smarter than we are (and loves us very much). ❤
