Delight in Humble Serving

Today my family served the Lord through serving our Great Aunts Evelyne and Ellen for the day. We stayed all day and it was beautiful. From cleaning out their fridge, hanging a new American flag, cleaning out a plumbing clog, lubricating the garage door, filling nail holes, etc., all was wonderful and gave great joy to all of us. There is little better than serving the Lord together as a family. And right now, I am tired, as we all are, but I, as we all are, am teaming with joy and breathing heartily and contentedly. Praise God!!! ❤

As I Wash the Clothes Again

As I wash the clothes again

Thr mundane repetition

Not some great humanitarian feat

For any but who wears them.

And it dawns on me the import

Of what it is I’m doing.

I am washing clothes of Jesus

It is Jesus I am serving.❤

Serving Together

My answer to the selfishness that attempt to sneak into us all is service. I force myself and now my kids (my peroggative) into a position of being humble enough to serve someone else. This forces focus onto someone else and you reap the internal rewards of joy God gives you for it. We just started delivering food and commodities to the needy elderly through a wonderful local organization. We drove to very beat down areas of town and some smelly situations and destitute people and gave them needed things and warm hugs and smiles. Immediate gratification: we felt good for having helped and loved and were honored by being Jesus for them in that moment. Also, my kids felt genuinely amazing for having helped and us doing it together. They also were able to appreciate our seeming riches in contrast to the humble we saw. We were humbled at ever grumbling or wishing for more than we had for it was obvious that in the scheme of things, we are so so very blessed already. I challenge you to serve the community somehow as a family if you can and aren’t already. When you help anyone, you help God. There is nothing like it and no beauty so clearly true than doing so. ❤

Serving the Selfish

When we volunteer with any organization that seeks to serve the Lord and serve others for Him, we unwittingly sign up to be abused. Gone are the days when service and good are truly appreciated and rewarded. The evil in this world and its subsequent selfishness and narcissism have given people a sense of entitlement, that they deserve to be served, pampered, worshipped, and yet these same folks are the most insecure people in the world. Why? They are wrong, that’s why. Serving ourselves brings glory to us. Serving God is a much more worthy and Noble cause because HE MADE US. Serving our Creator satisfies our soul, gives us fulfillment and positive self-esteem. We are important because the God of all the universe made us are nd says we are and wants a relationship with us. Serve anyway, even under persecution (don’t stay where they hurt you but don’t give up on trying to serve). Let God have your service and heart and He will give you peace and joy unlike any you have known. So worth it!❤

Really Helping People

Helping people should never be about us. It is about the person we are helping. And much is missed if we go through an entire day only helping ourselves. Much. Helping people because it honors God who made them is vital to happiness and satisfaction in life. Selfishness only ever gets you the temporary, myopic thing you want. It is 2 or at best 3 directional. Selfishness cannot take you to to the fulfilling 4 dimensional spiritually dynamic joy that humbly helping other people can. That is special, different. That serves Jesus directly and nothing is more beautiful. Praise God! ❤
