My family just got home from Sebring, where my Great Aunts Evelyne and Ellen live and we had the joy of serving them! We got to spring clean their Florida porch top to bottom. We are exhausted but God gave us a beautiful day and it is still beautiful.
What a joy it is to serve! And we had a picnic lunch afterwards on that porch we had cleaned. How delightful to help as a family someone who cannot do these things themselves! What a great day!!!😄❤
This week begins spring break, which means spring cleaning for me. I started with helping unload our equipment from the gig last night after sweeping and mopping all the floors in the house. That took a minute and I am still tired from a great gig last night and getting up same time early to walk the dog. Next on the docket is cleaning my mom’s house and then starting the pantry cleaning.
Now, I tell you cleaning is not my idea of a good time. I like working hard outside in nature, but indoor cleaning to me is not fun. I do it anyway because I don’t want to live in a pigpen and I believe God expects us to take care of what He has given us. Good stewardship is what that concept used to be called. In addition, my husband likes a very clean house and feels loved when I clean it. So there are all my reasons. So my goal is to get all the cleaning finished as quickly as possible so I can finish the quilt and maybe take the kids swimming or to the park and play a little too.❤
Today, my family worked as a team and helped my Great Aunts Evelyne and Ellen with washing windows and changing out switches and fixing a lamp they could not do on their own. And we had a great time and felt so fulfilled to do so. Serving is its own reward and it is just beautiful and feels so good to help someone else who needs it. Something easy for us helped someone else and made their day brighter and they felt loved on. How precious is that. See for yourself and help someone else who needs it for their sake or God’s and expecting nothing in return. So precious and meaningful!!! Great day!😄❤
We spent the day decorating my Great Aunts’ house. All day. They have a lot of decorations and can no longer do it themselves. What a beautiful thing to serve someone else all day as a family. It was beautiful. I am so grateful for this busy day in Avon Park. Loved every minute of it.😄❤
Those who sit or stare at their computers, “smart” phones, televisions, movie screens, etc. are way more likely to be unhealthy in every way. They are out of balance. And it gets worse the longer and more time devoted to doing too much mentally distracting (though not stimulating to intelligent, independent thought) but nothing physically. So the answer to remain balanced and healthy is to minimize mindless entertainment and physical lethargy and get up and move and serve and focus on God and others. Then everyone wins and you don’t die prematurely. Yay!😄❤
