Serving People, Serving God

Works don’t get you into heaven, a saving relationship with Jesus Christ does. Doing more good than bad also is against God’s written Word. It is all about walking, reading, listening and talking to God every day, humbly accepting Jesus Christ as your Savior and obeying Him. The obeying part is a really where the service comes in. And the Bible is clear that one great way to obey and serve the Lord is to serve other people. So, there it is. We lay aside all our wants to take time to help someone and bingo, we get a big smile from God. And when He smiles at us, we receive blessings ad rewards either now or eternal. You can bank on that. 😄❤

Painting Mom’s House

Mom’s kitchen was an ugly dark apricot color and now it is a light, creamy color. I am going to carry that color into her laundry room. This will help a lot. Part of the reason is for her enjoyment, as she always hated that dark apricot color and part is for resale. She is n planning to move into an apartment soon that can handle a wheelchair. So, it serves mom in two ways.

Things like this don’t take tons of time or money but make a huge difference in someone’s world. When you reach into someone’s world, it is meaningful to them and accomplishes showing love and serving God. When we do anything for anyone, we do that for the Lord. Always worth it!!😄❤

The Cleaning of a Refrigerator

So, confession time. I have not cleaned out my refrigerator for a year. I have cleaned spills, gotten rid of bad food, but not cleaned it all out for a year. Deplorable to some, yes, others I am quite sure would wonder why ever do it. Lol But today, I clean the refrigerator. In fact I am halfway finished and am taking a break to let it cool down again. But let me tell you, my husband’s love languages are acts of service primarily and then gifts secondly. So to him, my cleaning out the fridge is amazing and proves my love to him. I grew up doing all the cleaning inside and out so I can clean. Not my favorite thing to do, I heartily confess, but here is where my new talent of humbleness comes in. I am doing it for my husband, for my family that it matters to. That is love. Love someone their way today.❤

Heaven’s Waiting Room

Our time here on earth for all of us should be time spent waiting for heaven. But it is not a passive wait. We are not sitting around on our butts waiting for time to pass, we are worshipping God and thanking Him for Jesus’ work to assure us a place. We are thankful, friends! And while we worship and live thankfully, we are growing closer in our relationship with God. Wow, what a magnificent thought! We are loved by Almighty God our Creator who is rich in love and kindness, goodness and gentleness, joy and peace, holiness and self-control. He who created the stars knows and loves and wants to be close to us. Wow! In such deep thankfulness and worship, we cannot help but radiate His love and good things and humbly serve others also. What better show of our gratitude? And this is our waiting room experience on earth, awaiting heaven with our precious Savior! How blessed we all are!❤❤❤

Clean Freak

I am not a clean freak but I am recently very much like a clean freak lately. I spring cleaned our house over spring break, mom’s house over last week and this one and Great Aunts Evelyne and Ellen yesterday. I am headed over to finish mom’s cleaning up. And for someone who is not a clean freak, I sure am acting like it lately. Lol

I am thankful for n opportunities to serve people because it is always serving God also. That energizes me for things I don’t enjoy. I always remember Jesus didn’t rnjoy what He went through for n us but He did it anyone to show us love. So the least I can do for Him is show love by being inconvenienced. Life is acting about Him and not me. And it is a good life!❤

The Joy of Serving

My family just got home from Sebring, where my Great Aunts Evelyne and Ellen live and we had the joy of serving them! We got to spring clean their Florida porch top to bottom. We are exhausted but God gave us a beautiful day and it is still beautiful.

What a joy it is to serve! And we had a picnic lunch afterwards on that porch we had cleaned. How delightful to help as a family someone who cannot do these things themselves! What a great day!!!😄❤

Off to a Clean Start

This week begins spring break, which means spring cleaning for me. I started with helping unload our equipment from the gig last night after sweeping and mopping all the floors in the house. That took a minute and I am still tired from a great gig last night and getting up same time early to walk the dog. Next on the docket is cleaning my mom’s house and then starting the pantry cleaning.

Now, I tell you cleaning is not my idea of a good time. I like working hard outside in nature, but indoor cleaning to me is not fun. I do it anyway because I don’t want to live in a pigpen and I believe God expects us to take care of what He has given us. Good stewardship is what that concept used to be called. In addition, my husband likes a very clean house and feels loved when I clean it. So there are all my reasons. So my goal is to get all the cleaning finished as quickly as possible so I can finish the quilt and maybe take the kids swimming or to the park and play a little too.❤
