At church tonight, my son was made fun of because he is homeschooled. At church, this happened. On his secular baseball team, his being homeschooled is celebrated and they all tell him they are jealous and wish they were homeschooled and how lucky he is. Hmmm. I wonder what we Christians are teaching our kids about Jesus and about church. I wonder why my son is teased in a church youth group and celebrated and made team captain in secular baseball. I wonder if encouragement has gotten lost in the church and it has become a popular club where teasing is norm. Would you go to that? I wouldn’t if not for wanting to obey Christ. And I reprimand the church as a whole for its lack of encouragement. We are to praise and worship God together, serve together and encourage each other. Is this not the mandate for the church? Why the heck else do we bother? God said to, it is His design but it has become corrupted and we need to stand up and change this. Wonder why new people are not coming? We are not doing our jobs. Wonder why hundreds attend but only few volunteer to help out? We are not doing our jobs. We all need to step up and fulfill the church mandate designed by Jesus and spelled out in His Word. So tired of it. It is getting old. Do the right thing and encourage others to do so also. ❤
I confess I dislike the push of what I call “Selfish/Narcissistic Christianity” that is popular in many circles now, many churches. It is an infection of the enemy within the church, an infiltration, a parasite. Its motto is “What has God done for me lately?” And that is the selfish heart of it. And I detest it. I loathe it. I abhor it. Why the strong language? Because it wreaks of the world and the church is to smell sweet and light up the world, never be in it but set apart leading the lost to Jesus and His church for salvation. The Graceful Power of God blesses all the time, it is true, but He works in so many ways that worshipping Him needs to be the focus, lifting up Jesus Christ should always be the focus, truth must be the focus, loving service as such becomes the resulting focus. As Christians, our thinking is wrong if we are looking for God to serve us and people to serve us. We are always in the wrong if we are greedy and wanting to sit around and get blessings. The Graceful Power of God works through His pure church that wishes instead to worship and serve Him, works for His glory, lifts Him up. There is nothing worse than a whining Christian. We have to stop that. I seriously have to restrain myself from smacking the face of someone claiming to be a Christian with nothing but complaints coming fom their mouth. This should not be. We need to speak truth, be encouragers, be humble (I keep going back to that because it is the core thinking), be lights in the darkness. We have the answer to the problems people have, being salvation through and thus eternity with Jesus Christ. We need to lift that up, get the news out, help wherever we can. This is Christianity. That other garbage and selfishness is not, no matter what people say. Whoever focuses only on the blessings and not the humble obedience and worship is a liar, speaking half truths that lead people astray. Get away from them, don’t listen to a word they say. Read the Bible and pray for yourself and you will see the glorious grace of God in your life is beautiful ways! ❤
I am a long-time, experienced, well read (Bible college and 44 years of church going and reading the Bible straight through about 9 times now, and fast and pray regularly), and always will follow and love God first and foremost. Saying this, I believe strongly that the church, more than any other entity in America needs reform first and foremost. Christians love to blame society, the devil, evil, politicians, their toothbrush, whoever they can rather than take responsibility for their own spiritual shortcomings and changing to be more like God designed and spelled out clearly in the Bible.
We need God’s powerful love and grace to transform our hearts back to His design rather than selfishly and pridefully serving ourselves.
We need to life up the name of Jesus rather than our own names.
We need to serve God with our talents freely rather than sell merchandise.
We need to encourage others rather than judge or use them.
We need to serve rather than showboat.
We need to provide for orphans and widows rather than exorbitant buildings and salaries.
We need humility and responsibility rather than prideful egos and blame.
We need to worship together, fast and pray, read the Bible and have communion together rather than promote our good ideas and comfort.
We need less comfort and more service, less division and more unity.
All this starts with us. It starts with me. It starts with each and every Christian reading this and doing something about it. It requires repentence from taking personal responsibility to humbly fast and pray and start being the change. Then we would see revival worldwide that surpasses all comprehension.❤
As easy as it is to judge the people making up the church, others claiming to be Christians, and of course unsaved people, this is all for naught and truly quite unproductive. People will believe and do whatever they want. I can want people to love Jesus, be saved and then act like it but it is entirely up to them to make that decision.
Thus, I now fast on Wednesdays. I cannot change a person and have no perfection within myself to judge them, so I can obey myself. I can pray and fast and that reaches God’s ears in an amplified way which He honors. And I can pray that people’s minds and hearts are softened to believe and love God back.
So you have now met my Holy Spirit – powered super power. I can talk to the most powerful God of the universe, the Head One who made everything we know of and things we probably don’t. And I can tap into that amazing power and obey Him, worship and fast and pray to have His ear. I, through Jesus’ sacrifice for us, can stand in the gap for my family, friends, church, country and world. I can pray and the God of the universe hears me. Wow!❤
We have wonderful constitutional rights in our amazing constitution. We have rights to be free, voice our opinions- no matter what that is-, be acknowledged as equal under law to everyone because God made us all (yes, that is in there), to carry weapons to defend ourselves, to follow the laws that govern, to vote, to assemble, to worship, to own property, to work, and so on. Those are the main ones. We have rights under the law and that assumes we follow the law. Those who break the law and thus violate another person’s rights, punishments are expected and should come through the judicial system and it should not matter the status of persons involved, they need punishment. Now that system seems to be broken, but this is how it should be, how it was originally set up. It was set up beautifully and quite successfully, but it assumed people would respect God and respect each other as they want to be reapected. And people seem to appreciate their own rights (and judges and lawyer’s rights to take money to make things happen) but not God or other people’s rights and that is messed up, sinful, flawed, etc., and I digress. It is truth but I yield to my point. Privileges are not rights. They are bonus extras that vary from person to person. Privileges are earned. It is our right to be free. It is our privilege to get a bonus check at work. That is not a right. It is a privilege to get a check to help a hurting family with food. It is not a right. It is a privilege to drive, not a right. My point is that people are sometimes uninformed or misinformed of those differences and perpetuate those misunderstanding. You have the right to be free but it is my right to be free also. Everyone has the same rights. So when one person demands that their privilege is their right, they need to be educated. I have to honor your right to be free but it is my privilege to disagree with your views, as is it your privilege to disagree with mine but you also have to honor my right to be free. When one person declares their privileges are rights and must be given, they need to be educated, not appeased. We don’t change the constitution. Judges are to enforce the constitution and not rewrite it. And education needs to be taught from elementary school on to refresher courses for adults who demand their privileges as rights and care not for other’s rights. We need education just as badly as judicial reform and criminal system reform. The truth will set our country free from tyrants who happen to have a LOT of money. Then we will have our country back and fair and focused on enjoying our freedoms alongside our fellow Americans. ❤
