Today was the first day of Homeschool PE at the park for our kids. And I stuck to my guns and did not coach this year. The hardest part was my kids coming up to me, excitedly anticipating me as their coach. I am glad I had made such an impression and they will do great with the new mom who stepped n in to coach. I need to be able to not be there if my mom needs me; she will be moving sometime within the year. So, I did it and let someone else have the reins this year. Hard but done.
And I am happy, got to walk the dog around the field and talk to a friend. That was peaceful. Confirmed my decision and I am content. Sometimes necessary choices are difficult but the best thing. And you pray about it and just make the decision and go. And God is so good to confirm your good decision with peace.😄❤
Today was our closing ceremony and field day for homeschool PE. My kids were involved in classes and I coached 2nd and 3rd grades. My goal was to teach my kids teamwork, teach sports (we learned and played a different sport every month), encourage each other, recognize and value strengths and weaknesses, be healthy, stretch properly, buikd confidence that God made each of us on purpose with love, and hopefully promote friendships. And I succeeded in my goals and feel great about that. And it has been a sincere commitment and consumed a fair amount of time, but that being said, I will miss my kids over the summer. Some kids will move on to 4th and 5th grades. I will have some again and meet more, should we decided I coach again next fall. We will see. And who knows, we may be rapture by then. But any way it goes, I have loved my kids and appreciated them each and I hope they value the lessons learned through their years. They have many journeys ahead and I sure do hope they stay with the Lord through them all to be as spiritually successful as any other success in their lives and that failures are short lived and produce much fruit. 😄❤
Being a 2nd and 3rd grade coach for homeschool PE, I have been blessed to teach about 20 kids a different sport each month. And this month I taught the kids how to play tennis. Tennis is a passion of mine and my favorite sport to play now. I instilled that love into my kids and now into my class. They loved n it and had a blast.
It is just exciting and beautiful to share knowledge and bless someone else with a new knowledge. It is so satisfying and rewarding, a service to someone else. And we never know what we say that helps another person. That is why we serve and teach and write. And we must continue. And God blesses it.❤🎾
In this health quest, I determined to say yes when they again needed a coach for 2nd and 3rd grade homeschool PE. There was a need and I decided to step in but requested a co-coach that can fill in if we need to be elsewhere. And it was granted… Perfect!
And after coaching my very big class, I am not tired but revitalized. I love coaching. And the sheer energy and excitement of these kids is energetic and helping them be healthier and learn different sports just makes my day.
And we start every day with prayer, so they are getting the “God made us to be healthy” connection. And that is one of my favorite new thoughts.
God made us to be healthy. Health is a choice. We were not made to be a lump, to be waited on, to do nothing but be entertained. All that is garbage. We were made to be healthy, to serve, to help, to love on people. And my kids remind me of that and so become the teachers. Beautiful!❤
Today started off pretty cold so in normal fashion, not many kids showed up for homeschool PE. (Bunch of babies) I had all of 3 in my class. And it is hard to come up with something for 3 kids to do that is organized sports. But there is always a way and I am the coach so I had to come up with one. And this is what we did. We did our normal stretches and calisthenics and .70 mile walk/run. Then we played half court one on one soccer with the only female and least aggressive kid as goalie. We modified it so it would be more exercise that if another kid kicked it, they had to take it back to the center line before attempting a goal. They had a blast. All of them enjoyed it and got a great work out and experience. Then we played “Mr. Fox” for the last few minutes and stretched out. It was wonderful and we did not miss the other kids. As a bonus, it warmed up quite nicely as the morning went on. Never cop out and always dwell and make the most of what you have to work with. It is worth it and kids deserve and need that from those in authority over them.❤
