God’s Will, Our Will

When what we want lines up with what God wants for our journey, our path lines up with God’s path. It may be rocky and difficult, steep sometimes but it is the same journey and He is there helping us along it. When what we want conflicts with what God wants, our paths cross and a cross is formed for which we will keep walking away from Him.but at any point along the way, we can pick up our cross humbly and realign it with God’s path and are again on the path. And God will always be eager to hear our plea for help and help us. He longs for that, so great is His love for us.

Salvation

Anyone’s soul may be saved with utmost confidence when we humby pray to accept Jesus Christ as the sacrifice for our sins to God. The Bible spells it all out and you are welcome to read there, specifically Mark or John or Luke (my favorite). But sometimes we start off great but something or someone or usually we ourselves takes us off the straight path and we end up on a side trail. It can lead you the wrong way and distract you from the correct path. Distractions are huge in life. There are so many out there. A d so stoked you do not even realize you got off the right path and all of a sudden God plops down an inch ahead of you a solid steel 50 foot wall in front of you  that you run into and get knocked down for a bit. You think you might be down for the count, this is it, all done, give up and throw in the towel. However, because we are saved, God has actually intervened and He Himself had dropped down that wall from Heaven, not as punishment but because of His amazing love of you, wanting to point you back to the right path. And when you do finally come to, God reveals this to you and you get it and scramble your behind back to the proper trail and journey on, wiser and with an immense appreciation for God’s loving care of you and your salvation. You see, we sometimes need a lesser salvation along the way to keep us honest, keep us or restore us to holy for our Savior. And praise God, He delivers!!

Of Trails and Heaven

Every time I see a trail or path, I have a great propensity to go down it. This is especially true of paths that wind out of sight. I really want to see what is around the bend, what adventure awaits or what new thing there is to discover. I like it to be a surprise. Some of the best discoveries of my life were when I followed an unknown path. However, there have also been those paths that I have forged down that ended in disaster, that were not worth the effort or time or anything at all. In fact, the devastation at the end of them made me wish I hadn’t been so curious or adventurous. That being said, there is one path we can set out on where we know the outcome and the beautiful destination at the end of it. We know the final chapters of the book. We know what Heaven looks like. We know it is worth the toilsome but joyous journey to it. We know who waits for us there. We know the beauty of that place. Revelation 21 and 22 tells us about it. Walls of Jasper. I am of humble origins and don’t know my stones and gems well, so I googled it. Jasper is gorgeous! Walls made out of Jasper must be insanely beautiful. Streets of solid pure gold, as clear as glass. Really? I am digging this stuff. Foundation stones of the city walls of gorgeous diverse jewels. It will be like a rainbow, all the colors there. Gates of one solid pearl. Amazing. Visualize this place. And here is the kicker. Jesus Christ is the Light for the whole city. He who saved us and made a way for us to be there is not just our Champion Redeemer but also our companion! There will be no darkness, no night, no corruption, no lying, no uncleanness, no sin, nothing but goodness and truth. I cannot wait until the end of this journey down this path. This path is worth taking.

The “Wide is the Way” Lie

The current end times church looks a lot like a free-for-all to Heaven. Any way will get you there as long as you go to a certain church or believe a certain way and wide is the way to get to Heaven. Narrow means narrow minded now and is to be persecuted. This seems peaceful, like just getting along so well with everyone, no matter their beliefs. Any religion is embraced and tolerated except the narrow minded view Christ followers tend to take that the way to Heaven and communion with the one true God of the universe is only through His Son Jesus Christ. That belief is fair game for persecution. Speech is free unless it contains those words about Christ. Then, all bets are off. You are no longer a respectable human being and should not have rights and free speech. Why? Because as the time grows near for the enemy to be banished from everything, he is ramping up his game of dominion trying to deceive and destroy as many people as He can before he goes. What can we do? We still speak truth In Love and teach as many as we can that the way is narrow and involves salvation through the sacrifice and resurrection of Jesus Christ only. And if we are persecuted, so be it. If we are laughed at, so be it. If we are rejected by evil men, so be it. All power and authority is really the Lord’s and if we are ashamed of Him to save our skin, we perish along with the evil ones. If you don’t stand, you will fall. So, yes we are the underdogs from a worldly perspective. However, if your mind is right and is thinking about Spiritual matters and growth and maturity, we are the wise and adopted sons and daughters of God, the most powerful being in the entire universe. I believe that gives us something to be simultaneously proud and humble of. God is great and mighty but loving and gentle. He is to be loved by those He adopts into His family and He is to be feared severely by His enemies. Remember to choose now to be His child before the time may very well come to tempt you into choosing to protect your body and lose your soul.
