I am in two bands, the band at church to worship God with my talent and our band that makes money playing oldies variety music to help seniors relive their good days and bring them joy all over central Florida. Tonight, we had band practice for our 5 piece band. And it is so fun. We have good clean fun and only play the best songs, always uplifting and good classic or iconic songs. And our entire band has played together for over a year and a half (and four of us for two years and three of us for five years). We have so much fun and are very much a band family. And we all need a break in our week and love getting together to jam. Even with no gigs in the summer (there just aren’t any in Florida in the summer, thank God because when there are gigs they are outside- too hot), we all still want to keep playing. Just makes us a tighter band family. And we are hoping to work on a couple more originals. So fun and exciting. It is wonderful. I love being part of two band families, and all of us are Christians in both bands. Best bandsnin the world- all get along and play great music together. So precious!😄❤

Music Madness
I am of the opinion that music should uplift and glorify God. Of course, I am of the opinion that everyone and everything should do that first and foremost, so this is just an extension of that core belief. But when I hear music that dishonor Him by using His name in vain or speaking naturally or worse, alluringly of sin, it now rubs me wrong and I have to reject it and change the station or leave the room if I have no control over it. I choose to not put into my head anything that will work against my life goal of honoring my God. And I believe we have to make this stand for the sake of our beliefs. Sin will try to kill us or dumb us down any way it can and we do not have to sit back and let it. This is why God says to stand firm against the darts of the evil one. They always come in disguise as harmless and before you know it, it is trying to choke you in the night. Beware of music madness, stick with uplifting music and even better music that honors God.😄❤
Just Can’t Get Into Yes
My husband loves the band Yes. He really wants me to like the band. And I really have tried very hard to like the band. I love Bruford on drums, could listen to him all day, appreciate thr bass work, like the guitar and appreciate all the effort n into it. And I find myself enjoying the instrumental parts. But the vocals. I know tons of people love them. I just can’t. The vocals almost turns my stomach. Not just the annoying timbre of his voice but the harmonies are off-putting and they don’t sing one single meaningful word. In fact, every band now that does not have Christian spiritually meaningful lyrics rubs me wrong. I have no time, patience, desire to hear any secular band except instrumentals. It is a new thing for me and I see it as a direct result of my own spiritual maturity in my personal walk and relationship with my loving Heavenly Father. And that is just how it is now. I do not apologize for it. I just have different requirements to warrant my time and listening attention. I just want to hear my God lifted up and worshipped. That is my priority and focus. ❤
Take Me Back
“There was once in our lifetime,
A time of joy, a precious dance sublime.
Now that time is in our past
And I long for precious memories of that.
Take me there to that time
When I was yours, your heart was mine.
Take me back to that day when I was yours that way.
See if we can bring back moments of splendor.
See if we can bring back hearts full beyond measure.
There was once a holiday
Where the best thing we could do was meet our gaze.
Now that time is in the past.
And I long for sweetest memories of that.
See if we can bring back moments of pleasure
See if we can bring back hearts full beyond measure.
Take me there to that time
When I was yours, your heart was mine
Take me back to that day when I was yours that way.
I was yours that way.”❤
I am singing this song tomorrow in church. I wrote it pining a lost love and revisited it after reading Revelation 2 (Rev. 2:1. “To the angel of the church in Ephesus write: These are the words of him who holds the seven stars in his right hand and walks among the seven golden lampstands. 2. I know your deeds, your hard work and your perseverance. I know that you cannot tolerate wicked people, that you have tested those who claim to be apostles but are not, and have found them false. 3. You have persevered and have endured hardships for my name, and have not grown weary. 4. Yet I hold this against you: You have forsaken the love you had at first. 5. Consider how far you have fallen! Repent and do the things you did at first. If you do not repent, I will come to you and remove your lampstand from its place.”) where Jesus tells us He longs to be our (the church’s/saved ones) first love again. And this song gained immense power to me for it is the song of Jesus’ heart toward we whom He loves so very much and longs to draw us back to Himself. That relationship is far deeper, more meaningful and eternal. It is always our choice. He is always willing and eager to love us. His arms are open, come on in.❤
