When to Give Up

Now, I was once of the opinion that one should never give up. And I believed this wholeheartedly to the point of such faith that indeed I succeeded at everything I started. The thing is that this will ONLY be true if you are starting to do something God put on your heart or wills you to do. When you are obeying God, never ever give up.

Just be sure that is what you are doing. I taught my children that when they decide something, their moral character will show up in the myriad of little decisions as they are on that journey. And this is true. We prove our moral worth by being consistent more than by doing a huge thing then nothing much after. I would rather hire a person consistently good than a person once impressive but now hit or miss.

So, they key is to know God wants you to do something. Then, do that and everything as you go your best, asking for God’s help as you go. Then sink in and never ever give up.

It is ok to give up if you realize God was not on board and it was just something you wanted for selfish reasons. Then letting it go and doing what God wants is absolutely the right thing to do.

The thing is that we are responsible to do something for God. It may be great things but maybe not, but regardless it is a million little good decisions. Not lie, be loyal, speak encouragement, practice good manners, put others first, persist, commit, try again, speak truth, don’t do wrong, don’t steal, be content, have joy, practice peace, so on. These things never ever give up on. This is moral success and God will smile on you for it shows and proves your heart’s loyalty to Him.❤

Supportive Love

Our greatest and sometimes only supportive love has always and will always come from God, our loving Heavenly Father. People are supportive often when it suits them or things are going well or if they are first supported in general. Of course there are exceptions, but enough has happened in my 43 years that I do not expect to be lovingly supported by anyone consistently except God. He made me, knows me inside and out, has been with me since before I was even a consideration, and is my future. Same for you, my friend. Lean on God who loves and supports you. Trust Him and go to Him for all your needs. God will not let you down and even in tests or at the dimented butt of an evil one’s jokes and whims, He gives peace and joy and nd nd justice will follow. Make no mistake. God has your back. ❤

Gigs Galore

  • Our oldies rock and roll dance band had a gig last Saturday and we have one today and one next Saturday, and here is how we benefit. When we play out live, we get tighter and closer as a band family. We make people happy. We give people healthy exercise because they dance. And we get paid to help with bills. Playing live stretches us as musicians because you try harder for a live audience than an empty room. It is a great feeling to accomplish all these things in one night and doing three weekends in all row is a blessing to all involved. It is a win win for everyone. And we thank God for the ability and opportunity to do it. 🙂

Putting Life Into Life

Life is meant to be lived. Life is not slow succession of work to home to food to couch to bed to work and on and on the stagnate drama unfolds. I can not imagine a less illustrious scenario or less appealing or more appalling existence. Where is the life? Where is the meaning? No wonder people need more and more entertainment or to be in everyone’s business about news or stories played out hundreds of miles away in lives none of us lead that we wouldn’t care two shades about except for boxes of internet and high definition we feel we can not live without. And we wonder how the country and citizenry is dumped into extreme leftist ideals by extreme leftist ideas played out in most entertainment forms we embrace. Evolution is rampant throughout all of it. More and more skin is shown off on poor women who barely eat and need to show skin to be noticed? Everyone seems okay to sleep around with whomever you like and we are content sneaking into everyone’s open bedrooms. And we are okay with a meaningless existence as long as we are corrupted regularly with entertainment meant to sway thinking. So, I for one am tired of it. I wish more were. So, at our house, we go to grandma and grandpa’s house and walk their dog because they can’t right now. We clean their house. If their senior neighbors need help carrying groceries in, we help them. If someone needs to talk, we talk to them. If games need to be played, by golly we play them. At home, we clean together, play games, learn about all subjects you can think of, speak about travel and plan for it, play in an oldies rock and roll band for the benefit of seniors to reminisce and get a little money for us. We play in the worship band at church, we hike, we exercise, we craft, we do devotions and pray together, we play in parks and my kids include kids others left out. This is life. We live. Full and free, we live life. Why work so hard at it? Because I believe in being a good steward of what God gave us. I believe we were created for a reason. I believe we will all be accountable for what we did with what we were given. I believe I know enough about God to want desperately to be on His good side. I want to make a difference. I want my kids to. I want to live. Life is so much more than what most people do. Life is so joyful when we live life on purpose, making the most of every opportunity. And energy always rises to the level of interest. Find something to do with your talents that interests you. Then do it. Where there is a will, there is a way. And where our skills and wills meet, magic happens!
