I find that when I go through a store (which I hate doing, I might add), even the grocery store, if I have a smile because I have just been feeling grateful for grace, mercy and blessing, I radiate a warmth that people notice and more often than not reciprocate. And yes, that was a very long sentence. So true, though. I have gone into stores grumpy and find everyone is grumpy. And I have gone into store with a fake smile and get about 50/50. But when I have been basking in gratitude to God for every little blessing (which is a challenge for us big picture people) which results in a genuine smile and appreciation for everyone I see, I am met with pleasantness, appreciation, a smile, a burden lifted, etc. It works this way about 90% of the time. And those 10% can be at least momentarily lightened.
So, my challenge is to think about blessing and just bask in God’s greatness and grace to us before and while walking into a store, so deeply that you cannot help but smile, and see what happens, really pay attention. See if you are the light Jesus was talking about that can light up your little world. See what light there would be if we all did it. Brings a twinkle to my eye to think about.😄❤
Matthew 5:14. ‘”You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. 15. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. 16. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.”‘ ❤
Revelation 1:20. “The mystery of the seven stars that you saw in my right hand and of the seven golden lampstands is this: The seven stars are the angels of the seven churches, and the seven lampstands are the seven churches.” ❤

When people are wilfully ugly to us, we have a choice on how to respond. 1. We can pout and have a pity party, using that as an excuse to do something we should not that is entirely selfish/narcissistic. 2. We can get angry with righteous indignation and “vent” to everyone we know, using that maybe also as an excuse to do something we should not that is entirely selfish/narcissistic. 3. We can get even with revenge and unforgiveness (that unfortunately never hurts them) and inventing creative ways to be seen on the higher ground or be able to retake our wounded pride, often using that as an excuse to do something we should not that is entirely selfish/narcissistic. 4. We can pray and be thankful for what we have and the opportunity to set our pride down and turn to the Lord for help and comfort. And the last one there is of course the only option we should go to as Christians. Matthew 5:11. “Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me. 12. Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you. (-Bible Offline).” Look at Paul and Silas’ response to wilfully ugly people. Acts: 13:50. “But the Jewish leaders incited the God-fearing women of high standing and the leading men of the city. They stirred up persecution against Paul and Barnabas, and expelled them from their region. 51. So they shook the dust off their feet as a warning to them and went to Iconium. 52. And the disciples were filled with joy and with the Holy Spirit. (- Bible Offline).” And again, Acts 16:22. “The crowd joined in the attack against Paul and Silas, and the magistrates ordered them to be stripped and beaten with rods. 23. After they had been severely flogged, they were thrown into prison, and the jailer was commanded to guard them carefully. 24. When he received these orders, he put them in the inner cell and fastened their feet in the stocks. 25. About midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the other prisoners were listening to them. (- Bible Offline).” Let’s be the Christians God intended us to be and really be that light I’m a dark world.❤
Helium. Helium is on the lighter side. And thank God for what it does to people’s voices. Also, God is still, now, and always forever in control. Praise God!!!❤❤❤
We got our Christmas lights up and I noticed two things:
1. I cannot get a decent picture in the dark. The light shines too brightly in contrast and comes out blurry. I would have to take the pictures in the day to do them justice.
2. All you can see in the dark is what is lit up. You cannot tell anything else about the house or surroundings unless it is lit up.
I thought deeply about these points, as is my custom, and came to two concusions:
1. Surrounded by darkness, the light of Jesus in us is the only things that shine. The darkness is not distinctive and the light is a sharp contrast, difficult on the eyes.
2. In the presence of darkness, the presence of light is desired, wanted, beautiful, what we look for. We want light.
We are the light of the world, now more than ever. We need to be the light. The world needs us to be the light. Jesus is our light and His Holy Spirit that lives in us is the light in us as long as we operate in humble obedient light and not sin darkness which suppresses it.❤
Many things are surreal in this deeply dark evil Hollywood culture where sex sells, adultery is commonplace, violence is pushed by a propoganda media. I have truth… God is real and still in control and increasingly all there is that is truth, good, pure, holy, perfect, light. And there is the reality of homemade pie. It shines it’s own light to those you cook it for (even if you can’t have any right now). So trust in and stay close to God and make a pie for someone. There is light to give there.😄❤
When your soul needs a boost
And there’s nothing going right
And the dark creeps on in
Seems to engulf the light.
Give yourself a light boost
With an intentioned heart
And serve someone with joy
And relight your own light.
No longer wait for another to help
When your soul needs a boost, create one for yourself.
Create it with prayer and find someone to help,
Something that needs done and do it yourself.❤
