On Celebrating Birthdays

So, today is my husband’s birthday! Of course, he hates birthday celebrations for a couple mediocre reasons… 1. Life begins at conception so we have no idea when our actual birthday is. 2. It is narcissistic to celebrate one person when every day matters for everyone because we are not promised our next breath.

To those arguments, while I respect his excessive over thinking on that topic and his feelings after a fashion, think they are a load of stuff we used to step in on the farm.

Why?

Celebrating someone’s birthday is really celebrating the day the world was presented with God’s glorious and meaningful creation of the birthday boy or girl. In essence, it is a celebration of what a beautiful job God did and how grateful we are that He put you in our journey.

This is beautiful and I will continue to make a big deal of every birthday. Praise God!😄❤

Glorious Creation

What God made cannot help but convey His glory. Whether it is us humans or majestic mountains and fragrant, imaginatively designed flowers and plant life, graceful birds in flight or ridiculous water creatures, God is glorified. It is obvious His creation bears His fingerprints and breath. It is obvious He is wholesomely good when we peruse these things He crafted. You are a masterpiece, His crowning jewel and achievement. The moment you humbly call on Him, He is present, listening with glad eyes of love. Never forget this truth.😄❤

Power in Christian Unity

There is tremendous power in praying and fasting with other true followers of Christ. And I tell you, I know it is the Holy Spirit’s power, just a taste of it really, but God doles out a deeper strength to united fasting, prayerful Christians. Revival starts this way, miracles happen this way, governments are moved and guided this way, churches are purified this way. I am so honored by God and give Him glory for help and unity in prayer and fasting today. Praise God Almighty!!😄❤❤❤

The Fairest of Them All

Walking with Jesus Christ and His Holy Spirit changes your viewpoint, changes your vision. You become more mature spiritually so see the world through the eyes of Jesus through His Holy Spirit. You start seeing the bully as pathetic and in need of spiritual healing. You start seeing the homeless person as needing physical help and maybe mental help but definitely spiritual healing. You start seeing power hungry politicians in their lies as needing punishment to get their attention because they are needing spiritual healing. You start seeing immature Christians as needing spiritual guidance and training. And so on. You start seeing lonely on people, sadness in eyes, joy sometimes thank God, shallowness when deeper is the longing. And the fairest of them all is the humble who want and long for and seek God as much as He has always loved them. That can be poor or rich or in between, but you see that soul humble and crying out for God. That is true beauty, the glory within us built in allowed to shine through. It is the connection to God only possible through the impeccable strength of humility (humbleness, not humiliation). And this I can see now and it is gloriously beautiful.😄❤

On Borrowed Time

Every moment of life, we are on borrowed time. The moment is not ours to spend as we wish for our glory or even someone else’s glory. The moments we are given are for God, who is ironically not bound by time, but that is another matter. Our moments are a gift for God, meant to being Him glory and draw us closer to Him. And this beautiful treasure of time is sacred to Him. Being my primary love language, I get the time thing. We need to make the most of our time and pack as much love and worship into each moment we can. And this honors God and brings out God’s glory and love through us. Wow.❤❤❤

Hidden Blessing Surprises Everywhere

I needed a ball gown for tomorrow for a fancy gig. Having lost 50 pounds, last year’s gown did not fit and I could not alter it again. So I found this little gem at the thrift store for $4.99. It was sleeveless (which would not work for a keyboard- playing dancing singer. So, as it was way too long, I hemmed it and took that fabric to make sleeves. I call it my fancy peacock dress. See why:

So what did I learn? That God blesses us with hidden gems if we look for it and put some work into it. And if you re-read that, it is a deep, amazing truth. That includes hidden gems within us and within other people. Sometimes you have to search a little, put in some time, work on it a bit and just bless it back. And all of a sudden, out pops a gold mine that was just waiting for someone to see its worth and bring it out. God is so very good, beautiful gem friend. ❤
