The Holy Spirit working in us is not usually a dramatic work, although He can function however He wants. He is God. I will never limit Him. But the Holy Spirit most often works in a beautiful flow. A flow of truth, of thought, of shows of love, of generous encouragement. We can easily stifle His gentle urging by distractions, loudness, super-activity, sin, clinging to unforgiveness, many things. But when the Holy Spirit is flowing in your life and you free yourself (or humbly ask God to free you) to listen and move with His flow, it is peaceful, joyful, gentle, kind, good, loving, patient, faithful, self-controlled and is intrinsically hopeful. There is a reason we need Him. These things are life to the soul and eternal life. Beautiful flow. ❤❤❤
I am not generally an organized planner. I am a visionary, a visual goal setter and achiever, a big picture the details will work themselves out, stay up late and get things done and then sleep in person. I am married to an organized planner who rises early. What happens is I am criticized and verbally abused for not being an organized planner person who rises early and is immediately ready to function at high cognitive levels. I am berated for being different, wired differently by God for a purpose instead of encouraged to set goals and take care of big picture issues. I am squashed and suppressed for being different instead of encouraged. This limits my ability to be all God wants me to be. I say that not to bash my husband. He thinks he is helping me in his way and I know loves me and means well. The point is that we are all made differently to be able to work together to accomplish things for God, to be constructive and functional. When people are made to think and act like everyone else, not nearly as much can be accomplished. Yes, there is compromise so we can function and get along but there has to be a way to not kill a person’s design and spirit. We are all made to work together, all part of God’s design.
I have certain people in my life I limit interaction with because of little maybe even unknown or u realized attacks or jabs they take at me regularly. These things matter. If someone always calls you clumsy, you tend to be clumsy around them. If they think and expect good of you, you tend to rise to that. If they expect crazy or bad from you, you tend to fall to that mark. The company we keep matters. We should involve ourselves with encouraging each other. This is what the body of Christ is supposed to look like. It is how we best live and function together. We reach our greatest potential when we are supported in the cause of Christ.
