Bend Your Head so You Can Stand Your Ground

There are treasonous evils and principalities fighting all around us on all fronts, in most all countries right now. These forces seem united and he’ll bent on destruction. Those standing for God, righteousness, good, truth, America need to humbly bow/bend our heads to gain the strength of God. Then these evil people should be prosecuted for their treacherous activities and pray the principalities out. I am tired of idly standing by and just praying alone for this country and souls I love so much. We need to unite in prayer and fasting and do something. For heaven’s sakes, why are we so timid against these evil forces? They are defeated foe trying to kill as many as possible let on their way to hell and we just let them?! Why aren’t Christians in an uproar? Are we afraid? No, who would be afraid with the God of the universe on our side??? Rise up, man up, start humbly praying and fast for these lost souls and justice for the traitors to humanity and our freedom.

Helping Addicts

I am not a psychologist but have lived life all around addicts. They are prevalent. In my experience, addicts are addicts because they want to be. They have, at least initially, decided that being out of control and momentarily gratified and appeased to buffer any pain they encounter is preferred to having self control and facing life’s challenges and pains. They want to be there. If you want to help an addict, here is what you can do. You can pray. That is it. There is nothing else you can do. Until. Until the person decides they don’t want to be an addict anymore, that is. Once they make that decision, you can help them find the help they need and be supportive and encouraging while they start coming back to the real world. They will need love and a safe place then. Even then, going back to buffering pain is only a decision away, so that may happen. The thing is, although prayer and fasting is all you can do for these for these deceived ones, prayer and fasting is a lot. You are bringing almighty God into the mix and the All Powerful One can do much more than we can. He can soften hearts. He will not change minds because He granted us free will. But. He can help coordinate heart softening. That gives them a chance.

Convenience is Relative

Today I continued pondering the selfishness and narcissism running amuck in the world today. I wondered why more Christians don’t fast and pray and serve. Many do but many many more do not. I thought about the idea that maybe Christians are mistaking this world for Heaven and believe they are finished with their work maybe. But the people of this world is far too ugly to each other to make that mistake. Then I thought that maybe too much of the world’s message of humanism leaked into the church tainting everything. Maybe that is some of it. Another possibility is that people confuse God’s blessings with personal success and dismiss the need to work for the Lord, thinking they have done enough. Maybe some of it. I believe this last idea is the crux of the matter, however. That is that fasting and meditation on the Bible of sincere intensity and duration and self sacrifice to serve others is simply inconvenient. Convenience to self may be inconvenience to the kingdom of Heaven. I don’t believe the Lord’s convenience or preferences were the focus of His work and I am quite sure it is sin to focus on convenience and preference in our walks with Him as well. I am certain it was quite inconvenient for the Lord to die on a cross for us and yet He did because His focus was on us and His mission and His reign afterward. If we are focused on our eternities, which we can enter into at any time, we will be much more apt to align ourselves with His plans laid out in His Word. If convenience is what we are after, nothing will ever change for the better. Convenience to ourselves at the cost of inconvenience to the Lord or other people is not truly a convenience in the long run. We were made to worship and work/serve. When we do not fulfill our duties, we never truly have peace and comfort and pride in our accomplishments, in the best sense. It is quite fulfilling to find an area to serve and do so. The rewards are always so much better than what we put into it and God’s blessing will pile up in your life or in the eternity to come.
