The Lost In the Crowd

Sadder still than those alone,

More depressing than this verse,

Sadder than the remnant prince

Of lands lost to the sea.

Such is the sadness betwixt the crowd

Of one lost soul therein,

Especially when the poor soul lacks

The knowledge that he is lost within.

And surely does God’s loving heart

Sorrow at the loss of he

Who unbeknownst is lost in the crowd

When easily God would help thee.

But call upon God, dear fellow man,

Hear His sweet call so near.

Decide salvation yet today

For God wishes to live eternal with thee

And never would He abandon thee

If you but let Him save you.❤

Annual Picnic

So today we embark on our first annual picnic for the Naval Sea Cadets and their families. Should be fun, weather is hot but cloudy. Swimming is eminent and will be welcomed with open arms. Divisions from around Florida will be there and I am excited. When draws a crowd, it is easy to get a sense of not wanting to go. It is easy to feel apprehensive. But when the crowd you will be in is armed and capable and well trained, there is a comfort there and all apprehensions fly out the roof of my little brain. So, bring on the fun and sun and water and BBQ. Let’s enjoy this gorgeous day!! 😄❤

Far Away From the Maddening Crowd

I love that line, but not necessarily the book.  I never did finish the book.  But the idea of being far from the maddening crowd is a beautiful one… at least sometimes.  We, as Christians, live in the world to enhance it, to teach it, to grow it, to nurture it into the Kingdom worthy of God’s name.  Why?  It’s so much easier to get into survival mode or become worldly or escape into a people-less place.

There is very little of me that I can actually offer anyone.  Not one person will ever find amazing ways for me to use every talent that God has given me.  Not one person will truly appreciate every little thing about you.  That is, no one except the One who made you.  The One who made me knows every nuance about me and wants to.  The Master and Creator of the universe cares deeply for me and you and every person he made.  Even the ones you don’t want to admit that God made.  So, given your life to Him for His purpose will be the closest thing to a feeling of completion, purpose, potential fulfillment that you can get.  It’s selfish, really, to give yourself to God.  😉  It’s simple.  You. Just. Let. Go. Of You.
