Call to Prayer and Fasting October 30, 2016

United we stand and divided we fall. There are usurpers among us disguised as sheep in wools clothing, puppets in a very expensive game who would divide us if they could and steal from us what we worked hard for. I am not a brainwashed puppet, I am a free thinking American who loves God. I am now praying for America, specifically the America that believes in God and wishes to remain so. All of us must pray. And further,we must remain united and dismiss these childish bickering and proud selfish embellishments and all realize there are serious things going on that threaten us and our lives as we know them. We can play their game or we can unite and pray fervently and fast together over these serious matters and beg God to protect us all and restore our hearts to Him as a country. Our lives and our children’s may very well depend upon it. “If Myy people (God is speaking about His people) will humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land.” We must unite in prayer and fasting for our country and do it together, as a united front. We must choose a day, ideally October 30th, 2016. Who is with me let him and her join me in prayer and fasting on October 30th of this year for our country to be protected and healed by God. I will be doing that. Many have given their lives. I will give my day.

Less Than Ideal But We Can’t Sell Them

My 4 year old daughter’s newest thing that doesn’t make sense to me must stem from our garage sales. We have had three in her lifetime to sell off what they have outgrown and get pocket money for school crafts. Apparently, the selling of things made quite an impact in her life. So, her newest thing is to speak of “not selling” people in her life she likes and “selling” people who may be on her bad side that moment. So, I will get compliments like, “Mom, I love you. I don’t want to sell you.” Or in angry moments of her big brother not letting her destroy his valuable toy, she will pull me aside and say reverently “Mom, brother was mean to me. I think we should sell him.” Of course we had a huge theological discussion on the value of people and all kinds of things on a four year old level. But the point is that some people remain in toddler discard mode when something doesn’t suit them. Instead of putting in sometimes very little work or a few conversations, people will pout and give up and discard the person as they would rubbish and go about their own business like they are the only ones in the world who matter. And quite frankly, I am to the point where I call out this behavior and stand up for the integrity of life. There is of course the u born babies who may be discarded and murdered because they are sent to the world at an inopportune time or in an inopportune way. There is the school “nerd” who just doesn’t fit the “popular” mold and is bullied and discarded and discounted, the brunt of jokes. And there is the brilliant yet vulnerable young woman who was taken in by a man claiming to love her who abandons and discards her when he finds someone cuter or more vulnerable. And there is the good, decent American who stands for what is right and works honestly who is discarded as a pawn to line the pockets of the wealthy and powerful. Enough is enough. Why do we tolerate these people’s behavior. I have stood against many a bully and one thing I know about bullies is that they are all cowards, every one of them. They will fly or run if confronted. They will cower and lie if questioned. They will shudder if checked. They need to shudder for they are wrong. They should cower as they have made others cower who chose fear rather than confrontation. They should run out of town, out of America. People should unite and band together and take back our lives and country. Yes, prayer and fasting is step one but faith without works is dead.

Lord We’re Sorry

I wrote this song and put a very rudimentary version of it on YouTube under Lord, We’re Sorry, in hopes that this prayer becomes the prayer of our hearts to bring our nation back to the Lord. The words are as follows:

Lord, we’re sorry when we’ve give to the devil gifts from You.
Lord, we’re sorry for placing ourselves as idols above You.
Lord, we want to humble ourselves, seek and pray and turn to You.
Now we ask you, Lord, forgive us. Show us mercy, please be true.

Please forgive us. Lord, please heal our land.
Please, Lord, help us. Lord, we need Your hand.

Lord, we humbly come. All of us as one.
Lord, we all come to give our lives and country back to You.
There’s no greater need that we have on earth.
Jesus, save our lives. Cover our sins with Your glory.

Lord, we’re sorry when we’ve let our own agendas block our view.
Lord, we’re ashamed that we’ve spoken harshly to some lambs of Yours.
Lord, we’re sorry for every path we’ve taken away from You.
Now we ask You, Lord, restore us. Show us mercy. Lead with truth.

Please forgive us. Lord, please heal our land.
Please, Lord, help us. Lord, we need Your hand.

Lord, we humbly come. All of us as on.
Lord, we all come to give our lives and country back to You.
There’s no greater need that we have on earth.
Jesus, save our lives. Cover our sins with Your glory.

This song was a gift from God for God and anyone can use it at no charge. You have my permission. Listen to it on YouTube and ignore my post weight loss boring video and just close your eyes and hear my heart for our country and her people. We need revival and restoration and perhaps we can start with planting one seed at a time? I will do anything for the Lord. Maybe we all should.

Things I’ve Noticed Across America 3

So, we back up a minute to discuss the time I lived in Johnson City, Tennessee. I had a different perspective of the world because I only lived there one year as a college student. I believe that where we are emotionally changes our experience of the place. Whoever says otherwise is trying hard to fool somebody. Nonetheless, this was my first time living far enough from home that visits were nixed and I knew no one in the world there. Coming from softly rolling hills, wide open spaces and farm land into this eastern most tip of Tennessee was a strange and foreign land. They spoke funny, using words such as “howdy” and of course “y’all” and drawling out every other thing. The roads were windy yet disconnected unless you were on the main drag, and we were in a valley surrounded by mountains that felt every day like!e they were closing in. Ask for directions and you get something like this, “Oh, ya cain’t git thar from heare.” And you scratch your head as he gives you vague directions based on what’s too far and pray and hope for the best. Cockroaches were everywhere in the dorms and they were kept very clean and sprayed for them monthly. However, a year ago, our family went to Gatlinburg, Tennessee, about a half hour from Johnson City and we enjoyed our stay tremendously and relished in the beauty of those same mountains that before had given me severe claustrophobia. In fact, I would go back in a heartbeat. The point is that when you move around and travel, your past experiences and maturity or lack thereof go with you and you rather co-create your experience. So, a positive, open attitude is essential if you’re planning trips or moves around these fabulous States of ours. Another place I have lived is Kalamazoo, Michigan. It was only three hours from my original home but it was worlds apart because it was a big city. I attended Western Michigan U diversity for 4 years there and worked so sightseeing was limited, but the rolling hills were filled with houses and apartments and the people were crammed together in tight spaces for a lot of money and no parking. That was when I decided that upbringing makes the girl and city living was not for me. However, city gives you many perks, several of which are museums and grand libraries and parks, public transportation and jobs, cultural performances and drive. The places I have touched on in these three posts are places I have lived for a year or more. Next installment, I will touch on observations made during trips I’ve made and stayed at least a week, such as the Grand Canyon in Arizona; Reno, Nevada; St. Augustine, Florida; Yosemite National Park, California; Watkin’s Glen, New York; New York, New York; and Key West, Florida. My purpose in writing this is to give insights and motivate appreciation and realistic expectations for you to go and explore our incredible country that I love and that God made really well. Hope it helps you!

Memorial Day

I am so thankful for those brave and amazing men and women who have served our country in war times and peace times, especially those who are no longer on this side of heaven. Thank you to all who have served, are serving now or who will serve. It is a high honor to fight for our great country, to wage war on injustice and attack where er it occurs. I salute you all, for what it is worth and will give you the highest honor I can by teaching my children the values you fight for and the love of country and freedom and the history of how we got here. We have a truly great heritage, not all perfect, but definitely God has had a hand in it. Thank you!
