At church tonight, my son was made fun of because he is homeschooled. At church, this happened. On his secular baseball team, his being homeschooled is celebrated and they all tell him they are jealous and wish they were homeschooled and how lucky he is. Hmmm. I wonder what we Christians are teaching our kids about Jesus and about church. I wonder why my son is teased in a church youth group and celebrated and made team captain in secular baseball. I wonder if encouragement has gotten lost in the church and it has become a popular club where teasing is norm. Would you go to that? I wouldn’t if not for wanting to obey Christ. And I reprimand the church as a whole for its lack of encouragement. We are to praise and worship God together, serve together and encourage each other. Is this not the mandate for the church? Why the heck else do we bother? God said to, it is His design but it has become corrupted and we need to stand up and change this. Wonder why new people are not coming? We are not doing our jobs. Wonder why hundreds attend but only few volunteer to help out? We are not doing our jobs. We all need to step up and fulfill the church mandate designed by Jesus and spelled out in His Word. So tired of it. It is getting old. Do the right thing and encourage others to do so also. ❤
People tune out to missions. We need desperately to change that. Starts with us. We should spend as much on missions as we do on our kids’ Christmas presents because spending on missions is giving a gift directly to Jesus and obeying His call to missions. And if it is not wise to go to the mission field just now, we can support national missionaries through https://www.gfa.org/ or other reputable missions organizations with like focus on supporting national missionaries. The Great Commission has never been changed or diminished in its command. You cannot be a Christian and not do something for missions to spread God’s love and salvation through Jesus. We need to also work to reach people for Jesus where we are. Saving of souls should be our priority, needs to be even more so now as the day of the rapture is closer than ever. We need to obey. People need Jesus so much.❤
As Christians, followers of Jesus Christ, we have enormous blessings and expectations. For istance, we are called to fast and pray, worship, love, be united, love more, give generously, give up selfish worldly pursuits, represent God, always speak truth, strive to understand, stand for truth, honor and please God in all we say or do, and of course read our Bible. And God expects this all and generously provides the resources to do it all. There is no excuse not to do any of these basic mandates of the faith. These are requirements, not out of duty, but out of humble obedience, love and appreciation for eternal salvation and blessings galore. And frankly, I have screwed up and am actively working to do my job better. I call you all out also to do the same. Get back to our first love and relationship with God. It is our responsibility. We are His hands and feet and things that are not being done are a result of us dropping the ball. Pick it up and run with it. God is on our side so we must obey Him. God loves us so we must love Him and other people. It needs to happen. We must do it. ❤❤❤
God made each and every person on the planet with love, designed on purpose and with a special ability or gift to use for Him and others as an act of worship. There are no exceptions here.
So maybe fasting isn’t your thing, maybe it is. Maybe healing isn’t your thing but maybe it is. Maybe art isn’t your thing but maybe it is. So many options, so many needs in the church and kingdom of Jesus. Maybe you just don’t want to use your ability for God. Then don’t claim to be a follower of Christ/ a Christian and that would be a horrible decision. If you are a follower of Jesus Christ, then follow Him and use your gifts and abilities He gave you for Him and others.
The church is full of people not doing a dang thing. If you can’t be bothered, don’t even bother going. God made you, made everything that you appreciate, made everything good and on top n of that when we screwed up, Jesus came down here and suffered an agonizing death to redeem us. So what are you doing for Him?
Believing is good and well and may, may squeeze you into heaven, but what is belief without the fruit of that belief? What is the faith without using it to pray? What good is truth without sharing it? What is talk with no action?
We would be in a revival if the church Christians would wake up like it matters. Christians should be about God’s business. He has a lot going on right now. There us a lot of work to do. Christians should be missionary- minded. Christians should not be wrapped up in themselves and the world nor should they ever be lazy.❤
Churches suck lately. They are not supposed to suck. They are supposed to be vibrant, serving each other and the community, spreading the hope and love of Jesus, teaching the way/God’s way of love, reading God’s Word together, worshipping from the same heart together, etc. Now it is as full of dogma and traditions and time frames and unspoken perfection expectations and silence your kid and dumbed down messages to be so seeker sensitive you don’t actually say anything worth finding and full of cliques you feel cozy in because they are just like you, etc. And I am so super sick of that. I teach Sunday school out of the box and get weird looks. I do not care. I serve God and teach Him to my kids and I answer to Him. Raise your perfect eyebrows at me and I will still teach out the box. I will love those kids with Jesus’ love and not mold them into unrealistic expectations of dogma that does not matter eternally. Wake up, church! Stop sucking. Stop being wordly. Wake the freak up. Read the Bible unashamed, pray together and really pray, worship together, throw the clocks away, be God to the world. Revive, oh church! Get off your cozy, lazy behinds and be the church God designed with wondrous diversity and assorted gifts and talents shared in concert for God’s glory. Be who He designed you to be. Be beautiful and vivacious! Be God’s! ❤
