Trust in God

Trusting God requires contrition/humility that we cannot do it alone. It is the antithesis of pride and self-focus/independence. This is what makes it difficult for people. Rather than giving up control and pride, people will cling kicking and screaming to their problem- real or imagined- and carry it around with them everywhere, whining and worrying about it. It is like a stray dog they refuse to give up on that is eating them out of ouse and home but they refuse to give it up. It isn’t even theirs! And it hates them and bites them all the time. Still they work to keep it. No value at all? No matter, I can handle this.

This is worry. It is irrational. It is stupid. It is foolish and denotes a lack of contrition and trust in God. Trusting in God is to entrust everything to him. Give him the stray dog and let Him tame it or put it down as He deems fit. Be okay with God solving your problems- real or imagined. Give God the ok to work in your life for the best. Then relax and rest in His peace and joy. It is simple. Just do it.😄❤

Friend of Faith is Foe of Fear

Faith and fear are polar opposites. When one increases, the other decreases. One (faith) is from God and one (fear) is very very not. And fear is the cause of worry. So worry is also the opposite of faith. And I hear Christians say they worry about this and that. The sin of worry and fear is focusing on the problem and not God who gives faith and can conquer quite literally any battle before you. When we worry or fear, we call God inadequate to help us. We are not relying on God in faith. So to build faith, which should be our goal, we humbly pray and release the problem to God, who can handle it. Keep doing this. And repeat. Every good thing comes from exercise and practice. Exercise faith in God and it will grow. He is the answer.❤❤❤

Don’t Worry, Be Happy

When my teenage son gets a little, ahem, tense, with his crazy hormones, I start singing Don’t Worry, Be Happy. Then I address him and we sort it out, but I start with the song. A great song with an inherently Christian principle, do not worry. Jesus commanded it and it is many many times in the Bible. Worry stems from fear and “do not fear” in some form is in thr Bible 365 times at least, so at least one verse per day. That is how important it is. So, when tense or anxious, sing this little song he wrote, maybe even sing it note for note, “Don’t worry. Be happy.” Start there and move forward, hopefully with a humble prayer alongside. And things will go better for you.❤

Don’t Worry, Be Happy

Don’t Worry, Be Happy Lyrics by Bobby Ferrin

“Here’s a little song I wrote

You might want to sing it note for note
Don’t worry be happy
In every life we have some trouble
When you worry you make it double
Don’t worry, be happy
(Don’t worry, be happy now)

Don’t worry
Be happy
Don’t worry, be happy
Don’t worry
Be happy
Don’t worry, be happy

Ain’t got no place to lay your head
Somebody came and took your bed
Don’t worry, be happy
The land lord say your rent is late
He may have to litigate
Don’t worry, be happy
(Look at me I am happy)

Don’t worry, be happy
Here I give you my phone number
When you worry call me
I make you happy

Don’t worry, be happy

Ain’t got no cash, ain’t got no style
Ain’t got no girl to make you smile
But don’t worry be happy
Cause when you worry
Your face will frown
And that will bring everybody down
So don’t worry, be happy
(don’t worry, be happy now)

Don’t worry
Be happy
Don’t worry, be happy
Don’t worry
Be happy
Don’t worry, be happy

[*4th verse not in radio edit]
Now there is this song I wrote
I hope you learn it note for note
Like good little children
Don’t worry, be happy
Listen to what I say
In your life expect some trouble
When you worry
You make it double
But don’t worry
Be happy, be happy now

Don’t worry
Be happy
Don’t worry, be happy
Don’t worry
Be happy
Don’t worry, be happy

[Radio edit continues here]
Don’t worry
Don’t worry don’t do it, be happy
Put a smile on your face
Don’t bring everybody down like this

Don’t worry
It will soon pass whatever it is
Don’t worry, be happy.”❤

Matthew 6:33-34

Matthew 6:33. “But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. 34. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own”

These verses emphasize the vast emphasis on focus. Focusing on God and this day we are living here is the key to not worrying or sinning against God. Focus. Deliberate thought on God and Truth and what is right is our goal. We must be intentional. We must be focused. Or cares of this world/worry will overtake us. Focus on God forces us to build our faith. God reveals Himself to us the more time we intentionally spend with Him and faith grows. This is His immediate reward to us, He is such a master of rewards. The biggest, most important ones are non-monetary. (I mention that because a lot of people get that wrong.) ❤

As the Step Quickens

Many things to be afraid of. There are many things that can make your step quicken and heart beat faster, blood pressure raise, breath hasten. Stress is everywhere. Some are valid, some are invented/perceived, some are a combination of both. There is certainly much, very much to be afraid of. If. There is much to be afraid of IF you do not believe God is bigger than anything and that He is on your side. I honestly do not understand how people get through life at all without Him. He made everything, all of us, all we see, so to deny His power in  intervening on our behalf when we ask Him is quite precocious at best, foolishly harmful at worst. So, it is a matter of what extent do I believe that to be true? Do I really believe God intervenes on our behalf when we ask? Do I believe He is stronger than anything He created? My dad, the retired Marine and farmer, taught me not to be afraid of anyone but God. I asked why we should be afraid of God and He replied that He is a Spirit Force that can wipe us out anytime He wanted. Not reassuring as a kid, but as an adult I see what He is saying. He can do that, yes, He can do anything, but He loves us and protects us as my daddy did and as he later taught me to do for my future family at the time and whoever comes against us, we only need to raise our eyes to our Heavenly Daddy and help will come. He would move heaven and earth to help us, as we would for our loved ones, our kids, our family. So truly, because of His immense power and love for us, there is nothing on this planet to be afraid of. He has this all. God is the master. We are here to use our gifts to help people and worship Him and take care of business. That is it. Everything else is distraction and nonsense and traps and stupidity and enemy’s interference and tests and lies. One of those. Determining that is our goal and fear will be made short use of. If we determine the trick, test, lie, distraction or nonsense keeping us from our peace and joy and love and security in God here, we win and fear is eliminated. It really is that simple. And God can help us with that too! So we move forward in faith that God is God and we are we. And fear becomes a pimple in the road to be treated not allowed to develop into worry and stress. Giving the problems to God in faith and prayer frees us to live life and God to fight our battles for us. And He never loses. Not ever. He wins. So we win. Woo hoo!!! 🙂
