Promises Tucked Away in Faith

I have few fears in life. I used to say I was fearless, which is close to the whole true story, but I fear the Lord and fear people within my reach not fearing the Lord. So I do have a me fears. I know God loves us all, made us all special, but He gave us all free will to choose Him or the other guy and we can be pretty short sighted sometimes and those consequences are real and frightening. But I digress and have only those two fears. The reason I don’t have more or worry like many (I wrote a book “Worry Crashers” on Amazon Kindle books that goes into more depth) is because one of my spiritual gifts is faith. This is why I am am doctor, a healer, and why I heal people sometimes inadvertantly, often purposefully. I can only do that because I have faith, believing what God says in His Word the Bible and trusting that God only tells us the truth. I believe what He says, even if I can’t see it. I trust Him like a kid trusts their honest parent. As such, I know He heals and is the Great Physician. As such, He always can heal anyone of anything. He can even raise the dead or make a brand new person, for heaven’s sake. I even have faith that if He chooses not to, there is a better reason for it. And tucked away in my faith are His promises in the Bible. He never ever gives us a command or rule without giving a corresponding promise with it. Test me on that. Every command has a promise that comes true when you obey it. “Humble yourself in the sight of the Lord” is immediately followed with the promise “and He will give you strength.” “Honor your father and mother and it will go well with you.” “Be strong and courageous and I will fight for you.” “Tithe and see if I do not provide what you need.” So many instances of every command having a subsequent promise. These promises are like our assurrance, our roots that hold us to the truth that there are reasons God tells us stuff. God says what He means out of love, for our benefit. My faith grows as I test Him and He delivers. I obey and bam! He delivers on His promise. It is like clockwork, you can count on Him. He is not off golfing on some distant planet, He is here answering prayers, keeping promises, living and active and in love with us, wanting all of us to be saved. So humbling and ao faithful. He is one of the few who is. It melts the heart. ❤

Don’t Know Everything but Know Something

I don’t get a lot of stuff, like how the chocolate molten lava cake works or how someone can choose willingly to become so evil as to harm a child or how we can be moving like 1,000 miles an hour to keep us on this rock and it can feel like we acne standing still. These things I ponder, just don’t get at all. But I know this to be true. We, each acnrend every person on this planet, we’re made on purpose by a loving and powerful and very very smart God who is still in charge. He is so in charge that He told us what would happen and how to be saved from it all in the end in the Bible and opened up a way and spelled it out how to come pray to Him. I understand love from observing Him. I get love by experience. Love isn’t the falling, the infatuation, it is the staying, the faithfulness and self-control and gentleness and peace and joy of just being together. I get that my behavior and my children are my responsibility to keep myself right in the head and prepare the kids for adulthood in a pretty twisted world. I know beyond all doubt that each and every one of us will die and some will be taken up before that can happen and there is an eternity to look forward to or not, depending on how you did with the salvation and prayer thing mentioned previously. And this is where my hope comes in. Despite my crazy and at times otherwise unbearable journey through life has been, God is my constant and hope. I have not been constant but He sure is. And He drew me back and reminded me of these things I mentioned. No point is too late to remember and humbly talk to God and realign with Him. He is big but love and wants everyone He made on purpose to live forever with Him in heaven, His original intention for us. This I know. I will work on understanding the lava cake next.

Fearless

When Jesus Christ is Lord of your life and you have accepted Him as your Savior, there is nothing to fear. There are things that hurt or kill, but even these things are temporary and what we have that is eternal is much much much much bigger and more important. We have a forever with God, the Loving One, all powerful, all knowing, perfect One. We have Heaven. We have a rebuilt eternal heaven and earth without sickness, tears, pain or death anymore. Fear comes when we are short sided or short faith ed and do not believe that or trust it to be true or when Jesus Christ is not your Savior. All of those are fixable with prayer, Bible reading and trusting God. Whatever happens in this world, it will end, probably sooner than later, and there is an eternity to look forward to. We cannot fathom how long that is. I am so glad I know how I will be spending it and I hope everyone can be saved and be there too someday. God help us all trust more and focus on the good eternal rather than bad temporary! Help us all, Lord. I love you!

Opinion versus Truth

Everyone has opinion, which are no more than our experiences and perspective of what is seen compared to our knowledge of truth and it’s application. That is it. Might be accurate compared to the truth and might not. The person holding or teeming their opinion may be adequately informed or not. The opinion pusher may be wise or not. It is highly dangerous to accept other’s opinions as fact, as truth. Truth on the other hand is always true, it is absolute, no matter what anyone says to the contrary. Starts are always shining in the sky. That is a truth. We cannot see them in the day because the sunlight is brighter or when it is cloudy to mask them, but they are up there still. God is in control. That is a truth. It may not look like it because of situational clouds that mask it or distractions that blind us but I assure you He is in control. The Bible is truth. Nothing in it has ever been proven false and man have they tried. So the words in it are true and can be trusted. Opinions not so much, and before accepting them as truth need to be weighed against truth. Otherwise, they become distractions at best and false truths in your mind at worst. And we must not let them have power over us unless proven true for that reason. Always question and think and study for yourself from proper sources that are proven true. It is impertinent to keep from incorporating or acting on false beliefs. We must be proactive with what we let into our minds and take to heart. ❤

Young Whippersnappers

I just saw lots of youtube videos on millenials. One was a rant about how they are basically pampered moochers and then several responders who did innovate and make are difference. And I wanted to respond to arrest those. Here is my insight: people will rise to the level of their morals, regardless of age. People raised with Christian/high moral standards or who have incorporated and internalized high moral standards by upbringing or choice will be responsible, good, upright citizens who dependably care and help and serve and treat everyone with respect. Those with low moral standards will be idiots, selfish, narcisistic, entitled, wavering, disloyal, etc. Again, this is true of all ages. So there is hope for every generation through incorporating the high moral standards of God into our lives. And there are also more than ever opportunities for degradation. It is every person’s personal choice and I love that God provides hope for everyone. 🙂

The Thing About Believing

When someone believes something, they will at some point be called upon to exercise that belief. The stronger their believe, the lower their threshold to action. Love is the strongest belief. When we believe ourselves to be in love, we will act to protect our lover, family, Savior, whatever we are loving strongest. When we act out of fear, it is a different animal altogether, a weak stance, a forced action without the lifeforce will behind it, just a will to survive. When we believe in things and ideas that correlate with the Bible, good and upright things, our beliefs cause us to act in ways that help and stand out as lights in the dark world. We do things like cook for people, help clean, smile, visit shutins, care for orphans, defend others, care for widows, help so done with car trouble, share, etc. When our belief system is in line with the dark world around us, we do things like lie, be selfish, look out for ourselves, search for what is in it for us, only help if we get back more, hold grudges, fight, look for pleasure only, run from difficulty, escape. See, what we think about and put into our heads becomes our belief system which drives our actions. It is very important what messages go into our heads. This is why we can help guard our hearts by staying in prayer. God can help always and really loves to help us guard our beliefs and line them up with His.
