I often picture myself sitting on the side of a hill in Galilee listening to Jesus teach and looking into His loving eyes of passion and truth mingled with hope. It is a peaceful thought to me. I wish I could see Him and hear the words He spoke. How it must have stirred callous hearts. And that is how I feel when I read the precious Words of God in thr Bible. It is as if I were hearing it from Him. There is never a time my heart was not strengthened and mind sharpened by reading the Bible. It convicts (which is why some shy away), comforts (which is why they should read it anyway), generously gives hope and Truth and love and tells the future. The Bible is living and active and you only know that to be true when you read it diligently and humbly draw close to God. Read your Bible today. ❤
Acts 2:36. ‘”Therefore let all Israel be assured of this: God has made this Jesus, whom you crucified, both Lord and Messiah.” 37. When the people heard this, they were cut to the heart and said to Peter and the other apostles, “Brothers, what shall we do?” 38. Peter replied, “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. 39. The promise is for you and your children and for all who are far off—for all whom the Lord our God will call.” 40. With many other words he warned them; and he pleaded with them, “Save yourselves from this corrupt generation.” 41. Those who accepted his message were baptized, and about three thousand were added to their number that day.’
Friends from 72 Countries this month have found and read my blog somehow. That tells me people are searching for truth, hope and Jesus, for that is about all I talk about. And I find this to be very unifying and beautiful. I have never seen color or status on people (I am from a merger of missionary and farm families). I have been dirt poor and quite wealthy and had peace in God in both instances, with a little more joy in poverty than wealth somehow. My mom lived in Africa the first 8 years of her life, so color is diversity and beautiful to me. I myself am not white but a peachish- tan. Lol. So, I do not talk about color or status or fleeting/meaningless outward beauty treatments and dress or most other things. I speak about God, Jesus’ salvation He offers as a free gift, the Bible truths in verse, the church family and spiritual matters on the journey we are on togethwr with God. These things matter eternally. They are lasting truth with hope and love and faith and passion of God’s love for us. I love writing and love poetry and love people. I want people saved, as many as possible. But more than anything, I love God, love Jesus, love the Holy Spirit and my relationship with Him is the most important thing in the world to me. I would trade any amount of money and jewels and land and whatever the Lord would require of me to maintain my relationship with Him. It is the most important thing in my universe. God is everything to me. It permeates how I think, my service to others, my family care and support, my relationships, my everything. So praise God for blessing me with any good thing He provides and for the lessons that come from the bad. And I thank God for every bit of it for He knows and sees what is best and beautiful, loves me and wants the best for me in the long run. Eternity with God is my goal. And I want heaven to be packed. I want to see you there. We are so blessed! Praise God!❤
Where are the children
I have seen so many near.
But when the Sunday School bell rings
They are so very far.
If they’re here, they come with scowls
Or rolling eyes and tired minds
And boring is the Word of God
For their parents make it no priority.
So I sing the Sunday School Blues
For a community spiritually starving
For they have time for video games
But no time for their Creator.
Children more than anyone
Need the roots of God’s great Word
And parents need to bring them in
To study it and sing with friends
And Sunday will be bliss again.❤
